Let's get into the details

They say the devil's in the details - and I say your book's success is often in the details.

Today I'm sharing with you some excellent resources for delving deeper into your writing, and honing your author skills when it comes to details.

Both of the articles I'm sharing are from my friends at Reedsy.

The first piece is all about showing instead of telling. You've probably heard about the idea of show vs. tell a billion times by now, but it is not any less important. Readers need to experience things alongside the characters, and they need to learn things as the characters learn them. While you can learn countless things by reading, the act of reading is an experience.  Click here for a deep dive into the concept, plus some great examples .

The second article is all about  world building. If you are writing a science fiction or fantasy novel, this is especially important for you. You have the opportunity to create fantastic new worlds, but you want to readers to be able to navigate their way through these worlds - with your help, of course!

To you and your book!
